«Machinery Technical Service» Journal Code of Ethics is a set of rules that establishes basic principles and sets values for all participants in the scientific publication process. It regulates the behavior and relationships of authors, editors, reviewers, publishers and readers of our journal.

Compliance with these rules is binding, as it helps to improve the quality of the publication, maintains the confidence of the scientific community and society in general.

The general principles on which the activities of the Editorial Board of the «Machinery Technical Service» Journal are based:

• honesty;

• politeness;

• conscientiousness;

• objectivity;

• confidentiality;

• competence;

• professionalism

These principles have their own characteristics and are specifically implemented by each side of the scientific publication process: authors, editors, reviewers, publishers and readers.

The Editorial Board of the «Machinery Technical Service» Journal took into account the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications of the COPE and ethical codes of other publications.

Authors’ responsibility

The author should remember that he bears professional responsibility (to his colleagues and science in general), social responsibility (to society) and responsibility to the Editorial Board of the «Machinery Technical Service » Journal for his work and its results. This implies certain author’s (team of authors’) responsibilities and the fulfillment of a number of requirements:

1. Before submitting the manuscript to the editors, critically comprehend and analyze your work in order to exclude:

— fabrication;

— falsification (all data in the article must be reliable);

— errors and negligence in the description of methods and results.

2. Make correct references to the predecessors’, colleagues’ works:

— recognize the merits of scientists, whose ideas influenced the course and results of work;

— maintaine their citation index;

— demonstrate the necessary level of competence in terms of information awareness of the colleagues’ achievements in their professional field;

— clearly define the boundaries of research novelty;

— exclude plagiarism.

3. Report all individuals and organizations that provided financial support to the research.

5. Take an active part in the review process:

— answer the questions of editors and reviewers in time;

— make the necessary corrections and clarifications to the text in accordance with the reviewers and editors comments, if they do not contradict the author’s intention.

6. Do not submit to the Journal a manuscript that is under consideration in another journal, or an article that has already been published in another journal.

The author must immediately notify the Editorial Board of the Journal at any stage of the scientific publication process in case of significant errors or inaccuracies in the article.

By sending an article to the editor, the author thereby confirms that it meets all the requirements set out above and agrees to be fully responsible for failure to comply with these requirements.

Reviewers’ responsibility

All manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board of the «Machinery Technical Service» Journal pass two stages of reviewing: the minimum, carried out by the editor-in-chief of the Journal, and one-sided «blind» review.

The reviewer must remember that, when making an expert opinion on copyright materials, he not only bears moral responsibility to the authors, the Editorial Board of the Journal, but also to the relevant branch of science, as he largely determines the priorities of its development. Therefore, when deciding on each individual manuscript, the reviewer must meet a number of requirements:

1. Be sufficiently competent in the field of knowledge to which the evaluated manuscript belongs, otherwise the reviewer must:

— notify the Editorial Board of the Journal that it considers itself insufficiently qualified for its review.

2.
